Nebraska Kratom Legal Status Update
The Nebraska Kratom Consumer Protection Act (LB230) became enforceable, requiring kratom product registration, setting age restrictions (21+), and establishing manufacturing and labeling standards. This transitions kratom from a generally legal status to a legally regulated/restricted one.
While LB230 was passed in 2025, its implementation and enforcement, including product registration and new sales regulations, officially began on January 1, 2026. The Nebraska Department of Revenue issued guidance on December 19, 2025, detailing these new requirements and penalties for non-compliance. This changes the state's status from 'LEGAL' to 'RESTRICTED' due to comprehensive regulation.
